Every year Ventspils Adventure Park organizes the opening ceremony of Ventspils summer tourism and cycling season. It is traditionally started with a bicycle street racing.
The bicycle racing is held on two trails – a long trail (8,6 km) and a small trail for children (2,1 km). First participants, starting the competition, are children under 9 years of age.
Distance for children (2,1 km) – start in the Adventure Park – Saules street – Pionieru street – Ganibu street – Krustkalnu street – finish in the Adventure Park.
Long bike race track (8,6 km) – start in the Adventure Park – Saules street – Lielais avenue – Vasarnicu street – Mednu street iela – Locu street – K.Valdemara street – Ostas street – Pramju street – Kuldigas street – Ganibu street – Krustkalnu street – finish in the Adventure Park.
In the finish area all participants are awarded a special certificate and labels, and during the last 2 years also a special coupon to take part in the lottery, which winner will receive the main prize – a bicycle from Ventvelo.
All participants are offered a “power” porridge. Children, who participate in the bike race, are awarded a special coupon for a free use of any of the attractions in the Adventure Park.
